TRICARE Dentist in North Carolina: United Concordia In Network, Fort Bragg to the Coast
Military families move often enough without having to hunt for a dentist who takes their plan every time. Whether you just signed in at Fort Bragg, drill with the Guard out of Raleigh, or retired to Moore County, O2 Dental Group is in network with your coverage at all six of our offices.
Yes, we take TRICARE dental. O2 Dental Group is in network with the TRICARE Dental Program through United Concordia, accepts Active Duty Dental Program referrals, and accepts FEDVIP dental plans for military retirees. That holds at Fayetteville, Southern Pines, Wilmington, Raleigh, Durham and Siler City, for every dentist in each office. We file with United Concordia directly, so you pay only your cost-share.
Which military dental plan do you have?
“TRICARE dental” covers three different programs, and which one applies depends on your status. TRICARE medical coverage doesn’t include dental, so most families have a separate dental plan with its own enrollment.
TRICARE Dental Program (TDP)
Who it’s for: spouses and children of active-duty service members, plus National Guard and Reserve members and their families.
Who runs it: United Concordia.
At O2: in network at all six offices. Two routine exams and cleanings a year are part of the benefit, and we bill United Concordia for you.
Active Duty Dental Program (ADDP)
Who it’s for: active-duty service members themselves.
How it works: your care normally happens at a military dental clinic. ADDP covers a civilian office when the clinic refers you out, or when you’re stationed more than 50 miles from one. Remote members get an appointment control number from United Concordia before the visit, and we can help with that step.
At O2: referrals accepted at all six offices.
FEDVIP dental (military retirees)
Who it’s for: retired service members and their families.
Background: FEDVIP replaced the old TRICARE Retiree Dental Program at the end of 2018.
At O2: FEDVIP dental plans accepted, including FEDVIP Delta Dental, FEP BlueDental and GEHA.
If you’re not sure which program you’re enrolled in, bring your military ID and your sponsor’s details. Our front desk can sort it out with United Concordia in one call.
For Fort Bragg families: our Skibo Road office
1916 Skibo Rd, Suite C3, Fayetteville, NC 28314 · (910) 484-5141
Mon–Thu 8 AM–6 PM · Fri 8 AM–4 PM
Our Fayetteville office sits on Skibo Road, minutes from the gates of Fort Bragg. Two things about it matter to military households.
First, the hours. We stay open until 6 PM Monday through Thursday and see patients on Fridays, which makes it realistic to bring kids in after school or get your own cleaning done after the duty day ends.
Second, the team understands how TDP and ADDP actually work: cost-shares that change with pay grade, sponsor information on every claim, and what to do when a spouse is deployed and can’t sign a form. You won’t be the first family in our chair dealing with a PCS move, a deployment, or a gap in enrollment.
For a full list of plans this office takes, see Fayetteville dental insurance.
Moore County: Southern Pines, Pinehurst and Whispering Pines
Plenty of Bragg families choose to live west of post in Moore County, and many soldiers stay in the area after they retire. Our Southern Pines office, located at 340 Capital Drive, Carthage, NC 28327, takes the TDP, ADDP referrals and FEDVIP retiree plans. Call (910) 839-0055. Hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 4 PM.
If you moved here from active duty and you’re still figuring out FEDVIP, the team can walk you through what your new plan pays for compared with the TDP coverage you had before.
TRICARE dental at our other North Carolina offices
Wilmington. Coast Guard families stationed with Sector North Carolina are covered by the TDP just like Army families, and some Marine households commute from Hampstead toward Camp Lejeune. Our Market Street office in Ogden is in network for both. (910) 377-6453 · 7150 Market St, Ste 130, Wilmington, NC 28411 · Mon–Thu 8 AM–6 PM.
Raleigh. National Guard and Reserve members are eligible for the TDP, and the North Carolina National Guard is headquartered in Raleigh. Our North Raleigh office off I-540 sees Guard members and their families, and Spanish-speaking staff are available. (919) 341-4160 · 5321 Tin Roof Way, Ste 102, Raleigh, NC 27616 · Mon–Thu 8 AM–4 PM, plus every other Saturday 8 AM–2 PM.
Durham. Reservists, Guard members and retirees across the Triangle use our South Durham office on Watkins Road. (919) 813-2267 · 3219 Watkins Rd, Ste 103, Durham, NC 27707 · Mon–Thu 9 AM–5 PM, plus every other Friday 8 AM–2 PM.
Siler City. Chatham County has its share of veterans, retirees and Guard members, and they shouldn’t need to drive to Fayetteville to use their plan. (984) 265-1655 · 103 Food Lion Plaza, Siler City, NC 27344 · Mon–Thu 8 AM–5 PM.
Moving to North Carolina on PCS orders?
Your TDP coverage moves with you, but your dental records don’t move on their own. A little prep makes the first visit here faster:
- Check that your TDP enrollment is current before you leave your last duty station. Premiums are paid ahead, so a missed payment during a move can lapse coverage.
- Ask your previous dentist to send your most recent X-rays and treatment notes. Recent X-rays can save you from repeating images too soon for your plan to pay for them.
- If a child is mid-treatment with braces, bring the orthodontic records and the payment schedule from United Concordia.
- Call our office closest to your new home, give the sponsor's information, and we'll confirm eligibility before you come in.
Orthodontic coverage under the TDP
The TRICARE Dental Program does pay toward orthodontic treatment, within limits. Eligible children under 21 and eligible spouses under 23 qualify. United Concordia pays half of the allowable charge, up to a lifetime maximum of $1,750, and spreads its payments across the length of treatment. If you’re a qualifying spouse and you’re considering Invisalign, ask us to check how your benefit would apply before you start.
What you'll pay out of pocket
Under the TDP, your share depends on the service and on your sponsor’s pay grade. Preventive and diagnostic care is where the plan is most generous. Fillings, crowns and other restorative work carry a cost-share. Before any treatment beyond a checkup, you get a written estimate showing what United Concordia should pay and what’s left for you.
Bigger cases can be spread out with Sunbit or CareCredit, both explained on our financing options page. If a family member falls outside military coverage, for example an adult child who has aged out, the O2 Advantage Plan starts at $25 a month. Members get their routine cleanings, exams and X-rays covered, plus 20% off any other care.
