All-on-4 Full-Arch Implants in Raleigh, NC

All-on-4 — also written All-on-X or full-arch fixed implant reconstruction — replaces a whole arch of missing or failing teeth with a permanent set fixed onto just four to six implants. Nothing comes out at night, nothing needs adhesive, and nothing shifts while you talk or eat. For North Raleigh patients who are tired of a denture that moves, or who are watching a mouthful of old dental work fail piece by piece, it is usually the single biggest upgrade available in modern implant dentistry.

At our Raleigh office off Louisburg Road, full-arch cases are planned and placed in-house by our own doctors — not referred out, not handed to a traveling surgeon. The office runs on-site 3D cone-beam CT imaging, which is what turns a full-arch reconstruction from a guess into a plan, and the same team stays with your case across the eight-to-twelve-month arc from consult to final teeth.

What full-arch All-on-4 actually is

Replacing every tooth in an arch the old way meant one implant per tooth — fourteen or more posts, with the cost and surgical load to match. All-on-4 rethinks that. A handful of implants are set at deliberate angles to catch the most solid bone and spread the bite evenly, and a single fixed bridge of twelve to fourteen teeth rides on top of them. The posts carry the chewing load; the bridge gives you back a full, natural-looking smile.

Some mouths call for five or six implants instead of four — sometimes labeled All-on-6 — when extra support or a particular bone shape warrants it. The idea does not change: a few well-placed anchors holding one complete, fixed restoration.

To be clear about what this is not — it is not a denture. The bridge is screwed down and stays down. You clean it by brushing as usual and passing a water flosser or threader beneath it, a technique we coach you through at delivery. Once a year the hygienist unthreads it for a deep clean of the implants and gums, then locks it back in. Otherwise it simply lives in your mouth like the teeth you grew up with.

Is All-on-4 right for you?

A few situations point clearly toward full-arch treatment. If you already wear a denture — especially a lower one that never quite sits still — All-on-4 ends the movement entirely. If most of an arch is failing from gum disease, deep decay, or cracked teeth, rebuilding each tooth individually often costs more and lasts less than moving to one full-arch solution. If your older crowns, bridges, and partials are all giving out around the same time, a single planned reconstruction beats another decade of patchwork. And if you have been told your bone is too thin for implants, the angled All-on-4 approach frequently works where standard single-tooth implants could not, without the extensive grafting you may have been quoted elsewhere.

All-on-4 versus snap-in implant dentures

Both rest on implants, but they are different daily experiences. An implant-supported snap-in denture clips onto two to four implants for a firm hold during the day and comes out at night for cleaning; it costs considerably less and keeps a removable plate as the visible piece. All-on-4 fixes twelve-plus teeth onto four or more implants and never leaves your mouth — a higher investment that lands much closer to natural teeth. At the consultation we lay both side by side against your goals and budget rather than steering you to the pricier route by default.

Cases we see often at our Raleigh office

The Wakefield commuter done with a slipping lower denture. Years of a lower plate that lifted mid-meal and needed constant adhesive. We planned a lower All-on-4, removed the last few loose lower teeth on surgery day, placed the implants, and seated a fixed temporary the same afternoon. Around $25,000 for the arch — and the first work lunch in a decade he didn’t spend managing a denture.
The Falls of Neuse patient whose 1990s dental work all failed at once. A row of aging crowns and a couple of partials across both arches, every piece near the end of its life. Rather than rebuild tooth by tooth, we did full-mouth All-on-4 over roughly nine months. Total near $50,000, and a single coherent result instead of another round of piecemeal repairs.
The Wake Forest retiree told he wasn’t an implant candidate. Two prior consults had sent him away over upper bone loss. Our CBCT scan found enough solid bone for angled placement in the areas that mattered, so we treated the upper arch without major grafting. About $21,000, and fixed teeth he had written off as impossible.

How full-arch treatment unfolds

Plan on three stages across eight to twelve months.

Stage one — planning. A 3D CBCT scan maps your bone in detail. We design where the implants go, decide which failing teeth come out, and hand you a written plan with an itemized estimate before anything is scheduled.

Stage two — surgery day. Any remaining teeth in the arch come out in the same session the implants go in. In most cases a fixed temporary bridge is attached that day, so you leave with teeth, not a gap. The temporary works and looks like teeth while the implants fuse to bone underneath.

Stage three — final teeth. Once integration is confirmed, three to six months on, we swap the temporary for the permanent bridge — built around how you’ve actually been chewing and speaking and any aesthetic tweaks you want.

What All-on-4 costs in Raleigh

Full-arch reconstructions here run $20,000 to $25,000 per arch, with most standard cases between $30,000 and $40,000. Where you land depends on real variables — how much bone loss is present, how involved the extractions are, and whether you choose premium prosthetic materials. Doing both arches in one plan usually costs a bit less than two separate cases, since the imaging, planning, and surgical time overlap. Most medical and dental policies cover some portion — extractions, certain implant steps, the prosthetic — and we verify yours up front. Sunbit and longer-term medical financing cover the patient-responsibility balance.

Raleigh All-on-4 — Frequently Asked Questions

What does All-on-4 cost in Raleigh?

Per arch runs $25,000 to $50,000, with most standard cases between $30,000 and $40,000. Bone loss, complex extractions, and premium materials push toward the top; adequate bone and standard materials sit lower. Both arches together usually costs a little less than two separate cases.

No. In most cases we attach a fixed temporary bridge the same day, so you walk out with teeth in place. The temporary carries you through healing until the permanent bridge is made.

Roughly eight to twelve months. Extractions, implant placement, and the temporary happen on one surgical day; the implants then fuse over three to six months before the final teeth go in.

Frequently not. The angled implant strategy reaches denser bone and often avoids the heavy grafting single-tooth implants would need. We read your anatomy on a 3D CBCT scan and tell you plainly what’s achievable.

Our own doctors place every full-arch case in-house at the Raleigh office, with on-site 3D imaging. We don’t refer this work out.

Usually in part — many plans contribute toward extractions, certain implant steps, and the prosthetic, though annual maximums cap it and cosmetic upgrades may be excluded. We check your benefits and show real numbers first.
