Notes on Specific Plans at the Raleigh Location
BCBS of NC
Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina is probably the most commonly carried plan in this patient population, particularly among state employees and those working in the broader RTP corridor. We are in network with BCBS of NC at the Raleigh location. That said, BCBS offers a wide range of plan types — State Health Plan, Blue Options, Blue Local, and others — and in-network status can vary between them. Our team will confirm your specific BCBS plan during the verification call and tell you exactly where things stand before you come in.
GEHA / Connection Dental
Federal employees and federal retirees make up a real segment of the Raleigh patient base, especially those connected to the various agencies operating in and around the capital city. GEHA/Connection Dental is accepted at our Raleigh office. If your coverage comes through federal employment or federal retirement and you have been assuming you need to find a different provider, it is worth a quick call to verify before you look elsewhere.
Medicare Advantage Dental Plans
Original Medicare — Parts A and B — does not cover most dental procedures. If you have dental benefits through Medicare, those come through a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C). O2 Dental Group of Raleigh accepts Aetna Medicare, Humana Medicare, and United Healthcare Medicare dental plans. The coverage levels, annual maximums, and covered procedure categories vary considerably between these carriers, so our team will work through exactly what your plan covers before any treatment is discussed. Many patients are genuinely surprised by how much their Medicare Advantage plan pays when the benefits are verified correctly rather than assumed.
DHA / Sunlife and United Concordia
Both DHA/Sunlife and United Concordia are accepted at the Raleigh location. United Concordia is commonly carried by federal employees and some military-affiliated families. If either of these is your plan, call us to verify the specific variation before your visit.
