Oral Surgery in Fayetteville, NC
Most oral surgery doesn’t need to send you across town to a specialist and a separate waiting room. At our Skibo Road office we handle the everyday surgical work in-house — wisdom teeth, tooth extractions, dental implants, and minor bone grafting — for the families and service members who keep our community running. When your schedule answers to deployments, field exercises, and the next set of orders, having the surgery done where you already get your dental care, on a timeline you control, matters.
Painful wisdom tooth or a tooth that needs to come out? Call (910) 484-5141 — we’ll image it, give you the honest plan, and get you scheduled.
What We Handle In-House
- Wisdom teeth — erupted third molars and many impacted ones
- Tooth extractions — straightforward removals and surgical extractions of broken-down teeth or retained roots
- Dental implant placement — planned and placed here with 3D imaging
- Minor bone grafting — socket and ridge preservation, plus small grafts placed alongside an implant
- Ridge smoothing — reshaping bone during extractions when you’re preparing for dentures
- Removal of bony growths (tori) — in select cases
Wisdom Teeth — and an Honest Limit
Wisdom teeth show up in the late teens and early twenties, and a jaw that’s out of room pushes them sideways or traps them under the gum, where they ache, swell, and crowd the teeth in front of them. We take out erupted wisdom teeth and a good many impacted ones right here, and we start every case with 3D cone-beam imaging so we can see exactly where each root sits before we begin.
What we won’t do is pretend every wisdom tooth belongs in our chair. When a third molar is very deeply impacted, or its roots wrap close to the inferior alveolar nerve or the sinus floor, the responsible move is an oral surgeon — and the 3D scan is what tells us which case is which. If yours is one of those, we’ll say so plainly and send you to someone who does that work all day. For the great majority of patients, though, it’s handled here.
Staying Comfortable
Nerves are normal, and we plan around them. Every surgical visit uses local anesthesia so you don’t feel the work, and we add nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to take the edge off — it wears off within minutes of the mask coming off, so you’re clear-headed afterward. For patients who get genuinely anxious, we can prescribe an oral anti-anxiety medication to take before you arrive. We don’t offer IV sedation; if a case truly calls for going fully under, that’s a referral.
Cost and Insurance
- Most dental plans treat medically necessary extractions and wisdom-teeth removal as covered care, frequently at a meaningful share of the fee. Because surgical costs depend on the tooth and the difficulty, we don’t quote a flat number online — instead we verify your benefits and give you a written estimate at the consultation, after we’ve seen the imaging. Implant pricing is laid out on our Fayetteville implants page. For any balance, the O2 Advantage Plan, CareCredit, and Sunbit spread it into monthly payments.
Oral Surgery — Fayetteville – Frequently Asked Questions
Do you remove all wisdom teeth here?
Erupted ones and many impacted ones, yes — mapped with 3D imaging first. Very deep impactions or teeth hugging the nerve or sinus are referred to an oral surgeon, and we’ll tell you up front which yours is.
What sedation do you offer?
Local anesthesia plus nitrous oxide, and an oral anti-anxiety pill before your visit if you want it. No IV sedation.
Will insurance help with this?
Most plans cover necessary extractions and wisdom teeth. We verify your benefits and give a written estimate at the consult, with the O2 Advantage Plan, CareCredit, and Sunbit for any balance.
Do you do jaw surgery?
No — jaw surgery, facial trauma, sinus lifts, and biopsies are referred to a specialist. We handle wisdom teeth, extractions, implants, and minor grafting.
How long is recovery?
Most feel better in two to three days and normal within a week. Protecting the clot for the first day is what avoids a dry socket.
