Making the First Visit Easy

A few small moves help a first appointment land well. Book a slot when your child is usually rested and fed — mid-morning beats a post-lunch or end-of-day appointment. Talk it up plainly beforehand (“tomorrow they’ll count your teeth and clean them”), and steer clear of loaded words like shot, hurt, or drill. Skip the promise that “it won’t hurt,” which only puts the idea on the table.

Will my child need X-rays at the first visit?

Not automatically. Pediatric X-rays are taken only when clinically indicated — often just once a year or two for routine cases, more if cavity risk is high. Our digital sensors use far less radiation than traditional film.

Can I stay in the room?
